Showcasing Newcastle’s Small Press Scene!
Our city is full of self publishers, print makers and small press groups. We’ve been welcoming them to the Make & Mend market for years but we felt it was time to really show off what the Newcastle zine scene and self publishing community had to offer. Over four dates in 2019 we held the Make & Print Market, a zine fair, print market and small press comic con all rolled into one, in the Grainger Market, Newcastle city centre.

Make & Print-ers
NOLASEAN
Nikki is a North East based Artist/Designer whose work is inspired by playful pop aesthetics and abstract forms. After graduating from Brighton’s School of Art & Design in2017 she moved back to the North East to pursue more personal work which culminated in the launch of nolasean, an independent creative studio producing sculpture and print based ephemera.
Paper Jam Comics Collective
The Paper Jam Comics Collective is a Newcastle based comics making group. They make anthologies on various topics from food, to history, to needing a holiday.
They meet monthly to talk about and make comics.
Spookdoodles
Georgia Lovell is an illustrator, designer, and comic artist based in the North East of England. She graduated from University of Sunderland with a degree in Illustration and Design and works both traditionally ( usually inks, watercolours, markers) and digitally (Clip Studio Paint or Paint Tool Sai).
Britt Coxon Art and Design
Brittany Coxon is an artist, designer, illustrator and photographer based in Newcastle upon Tyne. She makes comics, websites, graphics, paper cut art and many other things.
Honeycomb Paints
Charleigh is always creating new and original pieces, adding her illustrations to clothing, bags, stickers and plenty more. Bee enthusiast.
The Peacock and the Printmaker
Heather Moore creates beautiful, original, hand printed Lino block and monotype prints inspired by the natural world.
As well as printing onto paper Heather prints on fabric, turning it into bags, and mugs too.
